The Youth Service Curriculum provides the foundation for developing high quality work with young people in Caerphilly. It enables youth workers to plan, deliver and evaluate their work in a systematic and measurable way, ensuring that beneficial outcomes for young people are achieved.

The curriculum outlines the learning that takes place through youth work and the range of opportunities offered to young people. It is designed to be flexible, allowing youth workers and young people opportunities to jointly plan activities and programmes that will develop and challenge young people and youth workers, and encourage their creativity and innovation.

Short paper to open up a wider debate on the process required to measure the journey taken by the young people, in particular those involved with the different youth work sectors. Considers whether there would be a means by which these tasks and activities could be categorised by using a non-formal Learning Framework. To assist this, a visual interpretation of the structure and principles of the Learning Framework have been developed into a 'Learning Tower'.

The part contains all the photocopiable resources and handouts for the sessions including icebreakers and exercises. The evaluation sheet gives feedback to the tutor and organisation regarding the effectiveness of the session. The follow-up action plan pro forma and age related next steps and options handout included in session 3, all designed to help the facilitator give future support to young people who have expressed an interest in having more information on career options. A certificate of attendance for young people has also been included.
